The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of the great underdog success stories. An imaginative marriage of character design, musical whimsy and holiday cheer, it has steadily grown in popularity since its release in 1993 as it's been discovered by new generations on DVD, Blu-ray and through theatrical re-releases. In 2006, Disney converted the film to 3D and has brought it back to theaters every Halloween since then. Now, Disney is planning to bring an all-new 3D version to Blu-ray.
On August 30, The Nightmare Before Christmas will be available for the first time ever on Blu-ray 3D. The release will be available as a three-disc combo pack – including the 3D disc, a Blu-ray disc and a DVD/Digital hybrid – and as a 3D movie download. The combo pack will have a suggested retail price of $49.99, while the download will be priced at $25.00.
